Rudolf Scharping is a Senior Consultant with the American Business Development Group, an internationally respected, full spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the Reserve Component. The firm has facilitated more than $680,000,000 in “new found sales” for client companies in each of the last four years.
Mr. Scharping’s “first” career was a long and distinguished career as an official of the highest levels of the German Government; after studying politics, sociology and law at the University of Bonn, Mr. Scharping joined the Social Democratic Party. From 1966 to 2002, Mr. Scharping served in numerous party positions and from 1975 to 1994 was a member of the Rhineland-Palatine Parliament. In 1991, serving as the Prime Minister of the State, Mr. Scharping developed an expertise in economic affairs and worked closely with industrial and business leaders to encourage more private investments and to lighten the tax burden for small and medium size businesses. From October 1998 to July 2002, Mr. Scharping served as Germany’s Minister of Defense. During this period in office, the German Army participated, for the first time since 1945, in a War outside Germany, in the former Yugoslavia.
Mr. Scharping left the public sector in 2005 and today, he is the CEO of RSBK, a Public Management and International Strategic Consulting firm located in Frankfurt Germany. Mr. Scharping is able to call on his experience of 30 years in modernizing and streamlining government and government procedures. For the past 20 years Mr. Scharping has traveled the world over and spent significant time throughout China working with German and Chinese companies. Mr. Scharping is an active cycling enthusiast and is the Chairman of the German Cycling Association.
