Larry Ayres is a Senior Consultant with the American Business Development Group, an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. The firm has facilitated more than $680,000,000 in "new found sales" for client companies in the last year and historically each year for the last four years.
Mr. Ayres brings over 30 years of government relations and business development experience, as well as, a valuable combination of credentials and capabilities that include senior positions in Fortune 100 corporations, lobby and law firms and the military, including serving as congressional liaison for the Secretaries of Defense and the Army.
Prior to joining ABDG, Mr. Ayres was President and founder of a lobbying and business consulting firm focused on assisting small and mid-sized companies to enter the Department of Defense market and create opportunities for the firm's clients. He developed and executed successful strategies to secure funding to support procurement of clients materials and services. Key clients included a major tier-one military truck component manufacturer, the leading manufacturer of advanced performance textiles, a major inspection and detection equipment manufacturer, a Midwest law firm, a cancer research center and a global provider of software and IT services.
In addition to his accomplishments in the private sector, Mr. Ayres is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. During his time as an Army officer, Mr. Ayres served in command and staff positions in Europe, Viet nam and the US. Prior to his retirement,, he served as the deputy chief legislative representative of the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army, interacting daily with Members of Congress and staff of the U.S. House of Representatives and coordinating the exchange of information on military matters of importance to both entities. Mr. Ayres travelled extensively with Members, Committee Chairmen and staff delegations on fact-finding trips related to critical Army issues, as well as, international matters and interests pending before Congress.
