George Demetriades is the Vice President of Washington Operations, an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces. The firm has facilitated more than $680,000,000 in “new found sales” for client companies in the last year and historically each year for the last four years.
Mr. Demetriades joined American Business Development Group in April 2002 as the Director of Operations. Over the following several years, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the firm and executed the expansion of the firm’s geographic presence into Michigan, South Carolina, and Europe. Mr. Demetriades also expanded the firm’s presence into additional sectors as diverse as Aerospace, Information Technology, and Sustainment and Training Programs. In his present role, he is responsible for continuing that expansion internationally and into sectors such as environmental and healthcare programs. Mr. Demetriades also continues to be intimately involved in the acquisition and joint venture strategies of the firm.
Prior to joining American Business Development Group, Mr. Demetriades served as the Military Legislative Assistant to Senator George Allen of Virginia. In this capacity, he assisted the Senator in analyzing proposed and pending legislation affecting the Department of Defense and National Security policy, evaluated requests from constituent businesses for inclusion in the appropriations process, and worked with committee staff members to advance the Senator’s legislative agenda.
Mr. Demetriades was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon completing his undergraduate work in Political Science at Wake Forest University, he was commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. He served as a platoon leader and company executive officer with 102 Military Intelligence Battalion, Second Infantry Division, Republic of Korea. Upon returning to the United States, he served in support of the National Security Agency as the Adjutant of the 741st Military Intelligence Battalion at Fort Meade, Maryland.
Mr. Demetriades transitioned into the National Guard in May of 2000 and served as the Intelligence Officer of 1-158 Cavalry (Recon), 29th Infantry Division prior to being mobilized as part of the 278 Regimental Combat Team (Tennessee Army National Guard) for Operation Iraqi Freedom III.
Mr. Demetriades volunteers his time as Treasurer of the True Champions Foundation, which aids wounded soldiers and their families financially during the recovery process. To date, this organization has contributed thousands of dollars to members of our Armed Forces.
