Dan Herrera is a Senior Consultant with American Business Development Group an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces. The firm has facilitated more than $680,000,000 in “new found sales” for client companies in the last year and historically each year for the last four years.
Mr. Herrera has extensive experience in military automotive technologies. He has over 37 years of service to the Army as both an officer and as a civilian in vehicle R&D and Procurement.
Most recently Mr. Herrera served as Associate Director of Mobility for the Army's Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan. In this position he directed several research and development technology teams supporting the Army's tracked and wheeled vehicles. These technologies included engines and transmissions, hybrid electric drive systems, track and suspensions systems, fuel cells, cooling and air filtration systems, and activities supporting their test and evaluation.
Prior to this he served as Program Manager for the Palletized Loading System (PLS) for the Project Manager for Heavy Tactical Vehicles. He was responsible for management of the 16 ton truck system taking the program through R&D, system production, and fielding. During his years in both the R&D and Procurement of Army vehicle systems and components he has accumulated extensive experience in acquisition activities such as source selection, project initiation, specification development, technology development, and funding.
As an Engineer Officer, Mr. Herrera served in Vietnam and Korea while in the Army. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Mechanical Engineering and completed the Army's Quality and Reliability Engineering Program.
Mr. Herrera is a resident of Troy, Michigan where he lives with his wife, Cheryl. He has two grown children.
